Enjoy Piedmontese landscape and way of life
You want to explore hiking trails, go on bike tours, visit the cultural cities of Piedmont
- or simply relax and indulge in the culinary and oenological delights of the Langhe?
As hosts of Cascina Curairone in Bossolasco, we are happy to provide advice and assistance for desired activities.
We are Petra and Rainer, a German couple,
who, for love of the nature and culture of Italy, have chosen the hills of the Alta Langa in Piedmont as a second home.
Part of the house has been our Italian domicile for several years. We rent out the separate wing.
The apartment includes a bedroom with a comfortable, modern bathroom and a cozy
large living room with a well-equipped kitchenette and dining area.

During the renovation work, as with the furnishings, we made a point of harmoniously combining old and new
the old and the new harmoniously in order to preserve the character of the rural property. The lovingly tended garden
with cherry trees, roses in every variation, many other blooming plants and different
seating areas also offers guests pleasant places to rest. Cascina Curairone is located at 630 meters above sea level, very quietly in a small side valley
about 2.5 km outside the village of Bossolasco in the middle of the Alta Langa. It is surrounded by fields, hazelnut groves and vineyards.
From the garden you have a wide view over the Po Valley to the Western Alps with its all overlooking
picture book mountain Monviso (3.841 m). Beautiful walks through chestnut forests or over the adjacent
hills to neighboring villages such as Serravalle Langhe can be taken directly from the house.
Larger hikes we are happy to recommend. The Cascina Curairone is an over 200 year old Piedmontese farmhouse that we have renovated
and converted in the traditional style.

Comfortable, sunny and shady seating and lounging areas invite you to sit on the spacious property to linger.
From spring to autumn, the garden unfolds its floral splendour. In summer, it's good to cool off.
A wall box / charging station with 10 kW
(type 2 plug for charging mode 3) is available for your electric car.
A Finnish wooden sauna on the ground floor can be used for a small fee.

Holiday at Alta Langa / Piedmont
Enjoy quiet and peaceful nature and recover from workaday life
The ridges of Alta Langa ... (show more/less)
... are situated in southern Piedmont. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and diversity. The rolling hills of the vineyards blend into the more arduous slopes of the wooded valleys of Belbo, Bormida and Uzzone.
Alta Langa is renowned beyond the local region for its excellent cuisine accompanied by the world-famous red wines from the close-by Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards. In June 2014 the vineyard landscape of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato was declared UNESCO World Heritage.
By foot, bike, car or motorcycle - not only lovers of nature will be amazed and enthusiastic about this marvellous landscape with castles, medieval hamlets, small typical towns and idyllically situated villages. At Bossolasco and at nearby Murazzano there are several possibilites to rent e-bikes. Those who love to discover city life have a large choice, as well. Take an "apperitivo" at Alba (ca. 30 min), the town of the international "White Truffle Fair", take a walk under the arcades of Cuneo (ca. 60 min), the capital of the province, or take a trip to the neighbouring town Dogliani (ca. 15 min) to do a little shopping at the weekly market and have a drink on the "piazza" afterwards. Since several years the 'Alba Music Festival' takes place in the summer months in enchanting little villages of the Langhe. The 'Collisioni' festival at Barolo (pop and rock) and the 'MonfortinJazz' festival at Monforte d`Alba present internationally well-known artists.
Piedmont is worth a trip for lovers of sports and art all year round. Within an hour or little more you will reach several large nature parcs in the Ligurian and Maritime Alps and the vast hiking areas in the Western Alps (with excellent conditions for alpine skiing). The beautiful beaches of the Ligurian coast invite you to go for a swim. Golf players find several courses to play on different levels (9-hole or 18-hole courses). Turin with its many museums, frequently changing exhibitions and touristic sights, is always worth a day-trip, as well as Genoa, the mediterranean port city with its tiny winding streets, or Milan, the city of fashion where you can see what will be "trendy" next year. Discover Piedmont in your own way, we are sure you will enjoy it.
